r403Having negotiated a peace for Mozambique, the Rome-based Catholic community of St. Egidio was a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1996. Peace brokerage is the latest expansion of the community’s mission of prayer and service to the poor and marginalised. A fledgling Irish grouping now forms part of what has become an international community of around 15 thousand.
