ru 234 Miami25 years ago Miami was White Anglo Saxon Protestan (WASP) with a small black population. Today the majority of the white population is Hispanic – mostly Spanish speaking Cubans. Over 300 multinationals have now moved their Latin American headquarters to Miami because of the excellent air communications, and because so many people speak Spanish – one of the factors helping to make Miami, in the words of the President of Ecuador, ‘The Capital of Latin America’.
