r284 alive &Arguments between Catholics and Protestants in the 16th century were vigorous if not inflammatory. Nowadays Christians try to be more charitable to each other, except in a few places like Northern Ireland. A survey in the 1960s showed that less than one-third of protestants in Northern Ireland believed that church unity was even desirable, whatever about being possible. How can Christians be loving and ecumenical in the least ecumenical country in Europe.
